Our Mission
To encourage Indian military professionals to contribute literature from an Indian perspective. Prior to independence, most military literature in India was imported from the West, and Lancer was established to foster a home-grown body of defence scholarship written by Indians.
They aimed to build a robust catalogue of Indian-authored military and strategic writing, including books, journals, and operational analysis. Their goal: shift the discourse from foreign frameworks to viewpoints rooted in Indian experience.
